Over the millennia, Soul Society has dedicated a large amount of time to determining the variance in temporal flow between worlds, and recent data has finally helped to cement a detailed estimation of how Time in each world changes in relation to the others.
Living Time
Using the World of Living as the central reference point for Temporal Variance, a pattern can be established based on the dimensional proximity. As such standard units of measurement are used: Minutes, Hours, Days, and Years being the most relevant, as no interaction ever occurs between worlds for less than a single minute, and the human Calendar of months is sometimes confusing.
Soul Time
It has been definitively observed that Time in Soul Society progresses at roughly ten times faster than time in the World of the Living. As such a single Minute spent by a Shinigami in the World of the Living will result in 10 minutes passing for their fellows back in Soul Society, which may not seem significant, but as the amount of time increases, the disparity causes more logistical concerns. As such, patrols are often limited to only a couple days at a time in order to make the best use of the Gotei's current lack of recruits.
Larger amounts of time also have specific designations to note the disparity:
Empty Time
Observing the Time Variance in Hueco Mundo was considerably more challenging than observing the difference between Soul Society and the World of the Living. Regardless it has been established that time in Hueco Mundo progresses roughly 100 times as fast as time in the World of the Living and there for approximately ten times as fast as time in Soul Society. Given that nothing happens between the other realms and Hueco Mundo on less than a per day basis, there is no point in tracking time differences less than a single day.
The following designations apply to time periods that would concern Shinigami, as it enables Hollow to grow and evolve at faster rates:

Larger amounts of time also have specific designations to note the disparity:
- Soul Quarter: This period is similar to 3 human months, and is equal to 9 days and 3 hours in the World of the Living
- Soul Year: Equal to 36 days and 12 hours in the World of the Living
- Soul Decade: Equal to 1 year in the World of the Living
- Soul Century: Equal to 10 years in the World of the Living

The following designations apply to time periods that would concern Shinigami, as it enables Hollow to grow and evolve at faster rates:
- Empty Cycle: A single day in the World of the Living is 100 in Hueco Mundo. This explains why Hollows appear to feed so often, and why more Menos level Hollow chose to feed on each other.
- Empty Decade: Roughly equivalent to a Soul Year, and therefore to 36 and a half days in the World of the Living.
- Empty Century: Equivalent to a Soul Decade, and therefore to 1 year in the World of the Living. This difference highlights how horrifyingly fast Hollows develop from the perspective of both Shinigami and Humans.
